40 years of perfecting a simple wardrobe. 

  • In 1984, Eileen started her company with four simple pieces that made getting dressed easy. The line grew into a system of shapes designed to mix and match, in fabrics that work together across the seasons and the years. Over the next four decades, our approach of timeless design proved it is possible to break the trend cycle—to wear what you love and live with it longer.  

    In the 90s, we focused on sourcing materials responsibly, investing in the well-being of people and the planet. In 2009, we became one of the first brands to take our used garments back to keep them out of the landfill. But as our industry continued to grow, so did its impact on the environment. We knew we needed to make it easier to do more with less. 

    Drawing on 40 years of experience, we’ve turned Eileen’s original system of shapes into a blueprint for building an intentional wardrobe. Every piece on our line is designed to serve a purpose in our customers’ lives—so they can make more mindful choices. Because we can’t solve the problem of overconsumption alone.  

    If we work together, we can meaningfully reduce our impact, in three simple steps: Responsibly made. Thoughtfully chosen. Endlessly worn. 

The Fair Trade Certified™ Difference

  • Since 2023, we’ve partnered with Fair Trade USA™, because we believe this certification is one of the most effective ways to make a tangible difference in the lives of garment workers. As of Fall 2025, we offer product from five Fair Trade Certified™ factories, which now includes pieces made from our signature velvet and silk.  

    The bottom line: When you treat workers fairly, everyone benefits. Fair Trade uplifts worker voices, provides pathways to a living wage and helps improve job satisfaction. It’s the right thing to do for the people who make our clothes.

Wool That Fights Climate Change: Regenerative Farming  

  • This season, we’re introducing Superfine Merino, a new knit made with our Regenerative Wool—the fiber that's helping to restore grasslands in Patagonia and fight climate change.  
     
    Overgrazing and conventional ranching have led to soil erosion and desertification in this region of Argentina. But when sheep are managed holistically and rotated between pastures, their grazing helps to aerate the soil and add nutrients and carbon back into it. This in turn allows new life to grow—and animals and plants to thrive together.  
     
    By partnering with Argentinian ranchers who use better farming methods and animal welfare practices, we’re helping regenerate the natural systems that support life on our planet. 

How your damaged clothes are making a comeback.  

The Future Is Circular

  • We’re working to keep worn-and-torn EILEEN FISHER clothes in the cycle of use as long as possible. Why? They’re simply too good to waste. Here’s what we're doing with the 100,000+ units of damaged garments sitting in our Renew warehouse. 

    Special Collections 
    Our team repairs and repurposes select styles by hand. These one-of-a-kind pieces are mended, overdyed or resewn—and offered in limited-edition collections on eileenfisherrenew.com. 

    Fiber-to-Fiber Recycling 
    We set aside roughly 57% of damaged inventory collected for textile recycling. That means the garments are sorted by color, then mechanically shredded and respun into new yarns from which new fabrics can be made. The fibers are simply too good to waste. 

    This season, they're coming back around—in the form of new pieces, including Recycled Wool Cashmere sweaters and our luxurious Doubleface Wool Cloud coat.

EILEEN FISHER Renew 

  • We’ve collected over 2 million gently used EILEEN FISHER pieces though our Renew take-back program since 2009—to be resold, donated or remade into something new. It’s just one way we’re working to extend the life cycle of the clothes we love.  

    The philosophy behind Renew is simple: Buy quality pieces, wear them as long as possible—and when you’re done with them, pass them on to someone else. 

    Our gently worn clothes are shoppable online at eileenfisherrenew.com, via pop-up racks in select EILEEN FISHER locations around the country, and in standalone Renew stores in Seattle, Washington, and Irvington, New York.
